Guestblog: Conservative Round Up by Palin Smith

Below is a guestblog by Palin Smith- Many thanks Palin! The views expressed may or may not necessarily reflect those of the Insider staff. This is published as a courtesy to readers.

GREETINGS PATRIOTS

The CT Restoration Coalition pot luck picnic at KING 33 was a big hit. Nearly 100 patriots from all over the state attended. To see pictures follow this link https://www.facebook.com/events/325106867622890/337231133077130/?notif_t=event_mall_comment
Nobody can remember a bigger rally for or against an incumbent state senator, Republican or Democrat, than this one. And it’s just the beginning.
http://youtu.be/0pBOq-4_KuM
We’re planning rallies in Newtown and Fairfield.
The CT RC is a forum where individuals and groups come to discuss state issues, to network, organize and learn. You can find more at this link
http://ct-rc.org/
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We’ve been hoping to take the CT RC on the road to other regions of the state. Enfield, Middletown, Norwich, near New Haven and in Fairfield County. If you know of a spacious indoor facility near these locations that we could use for a minimal charge, please let us know.
Another idea in the works is to meet in smaller groups, possibly in each of the 36 state senate districts. The smaller groups can meet in a home, place of business after hours or side room in a restaurant. If you would like to volunteer to lead in your senate district, please reply.
The smaller groups may work to help support municipal candidates this year, and then expand to help identify, recruit and support state candidates in 2014. If we are serious about victory, we must find the best people and help them win.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unaffiliated, Libertarian and Independent and Republican voters are encouraged to run for public office. Conservative Democrats who embrace the Constitution will be seriously considered as opponents to incumbent Republican OATH BREAKERS, unless the oath breakers are successfully replaced in a primary.
So far there is a short list of candidates we are supporting.
The list will grow as more people get nominated onto their town’s slate of candidates during the month of July. The local candidates this year might become state candidates in years to come. We’re building a Patriot’s Farm Team because we can’t fully trust the Republican Party to do the right thing. An additional layer of vetting is a good thing.

(R) Chris Duffy for Alderman in New Britain.
(R) Angel Fernandez for Common Council in Middletown

(R) Jessica Chiong for Board of Education in West Haven

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tuesday, July 16, we attended a special bill-signing ceremony in Southbury. Governor Malloy, several other dignitaries and almost 100 people were present to witness 800 acres of farmland at the Southbury Training School transferred from the Department of Developmental Services to the Agriculture Department. The entire event is documented on You tube at this play list link: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL5wsVsNCEygrUsgs22UdLvi2oR0syI-JV

OVERPASSES FOR OBAMA’S IMPEACHMENT
We’ve recently become aware of a new national movement to Impeach Obama. Rallies have been staged on Highway Overpasses. Tea Party tactics are being employed by an entire new group of recently awakened Americans.

In Connecticut one goal is to stage at least one Overpass Rally in each of the state’s thirty-six (36) state senate districts. Select an overpass near you that is highly visible, low to the ground, with short safety fences, with close parking and a safe sidewalk. Bring a camera.
The demonstrations will be focused at the morning and afternoon rush hours to take advantage of dense, slow-moving traffic. August 6 is the day chosen for the first national “Patriot Wave”. Learn more on the CT Facebook page.
https://www.facebook.com/groups/449760198456036/
EVERYONE IS WELCOME to join. Select your bridge, bring some friends, a flag and some big Impeach Obama signs. Document your rally with pictures and post on the Facebook page.
Sign up to send a huge Twitter Eblast here. It’s called THUNDERCLAP!
https://www.thunderclap.it/projects/2992-let-s-reclaim-america
Democrats must take the lead if we are to rid ourselves of Obama. The NSA issue may be the tipping point. Wealthy Democrats recently protested Nancy Pelosi in Maryland. It’s four years after the CT Tea Party, but it’s a good start.

ANOTHER REMINDER ~ 2ND DISTRICT ( WORKING TOGETHER FOR VICTORY)
STATE SENATE DISTRICT 29 ~ PATRIOTS NEEDED
Friday, 19 July starting at 6:00 pm at 204 Wright Road, Killingly.
Please RSVP and contact Duffy at duffyqctpp@gmail.com
If you agree with defeating Democrat Don Williams, District 29 State Senator in 2014, please forward to your RTC/GOP email list, and discuss at your next meeting.
The immediate/short term goal is to identify prospective candidates who could challenge, and defeat Don Williams in District 29 (towns of Brooklyn, Canterbury, Killingly, Mansfield, Putnam, Scotland, Thompson, Windham). At the state level, it’s not too early to be looking for a winning candidate. To win, we need a CT/District 29-historic candidate. And make no mistake; winning does not happen by accident.
However, I believe along the way, we need to identify, and cultivate prospective candidates who might be interested in challenging, and able to beat Don Williams in District 29. We must become the party that can chew gum and walk at the same time.

Anne Dauphinais: Join us this coming Friday, 19 July starting at 6:00 pm at 204 Wright Road, Killingly. The purpose of the get together is to exchange ideas and discuss how to go about beating Don Williams in 2014. Rations provided by Giant Pizza, beer and wine provided by Friendly Spirits.
Make no mistake my friends, if we want to defeat Don in 2014, we need to start organizing now. My experience also tells me winning and losing has an attitude, a smell.
Please forward to your members and friends; we’re looking for ideas and help to defeat Don in 2014.
I’m hoping each of you can attend this Friday’s meeting. Please RSVP and contact Duffy at duffyqctpp@gmail.com if you plan to attend. If not, maybe a representative? I’m hoping an RTC representative from every town will attend. Without strong, local RTC support, it won’t’ work, no matter the candidate. Both must hit on all cylinders to have a chance.
Best Regards, and please forward,
Dale “Duffy” Dauphinais, Town of Killingly,
State Senate District 29 Dump Don Williams Citizen Committee
Find us on Facebook: Dump Don Williams.

Dan Reale has been building the Libertarian Party of Connecticut steadily for four years. Dan ran for 2nd District Rep. against Joe Courtney in 2010 and 2012. Dan got the CCDL endorsement over Republican Paul Formica last year. Check out the following email and make some inquiries:
“Ballot access was attained today for our whole team, so the Libertarians have 6 people on the ballot for the November 5th election. Team Russell will take Norwich by storm on November 5th, we will take the reins of Norwich and show America what the Libertarians can do once we take control of government. I also got the business cards today, so please arrange to come by to pick up some.

Guest Blog: Greetings Patriots from Palin Smith Conservative Roundup

Below is a roundup of Conservative events being held this week. Complied and submitted by Palin Smith. Opinions are that of Palin Smith and do not necessarily reflect that of Insider Staff.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
GREETINGS PATRIOTS
Wall Street celebrated this morning when the Dow Jones Industrial Average broke above 15,000 for the first time. With reports of 165,000 new jobs created in April and a drop in the unemployment rate to 7.5%, the low-information voters are mesmerized in math la-la-land. However, more unintended consequences of Obamacare over-shadowed the jubilation. The equivalent of 500,000 jobs lost must also be reported. Businesses are cutting back people to part time employees.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Two nights ago in Tolland the Republican Party made its choice, Samuel Belsito, to run for state rep. in the 53rd district, comprising the towns of Tolland, Willington and Ashford. A special election will be conducted on June 11, 2013 to replace former Rep. Brian Hurlburt, who took a job with the US Agriculture Department, another useless agency.
This 5-week special election is significant because it will be the first time the huge influx of 2A supporters and defenders will have an opportunity to flex their new political muscles. Mr. Belsito will meet the public very soon. If you want to find out where he stands on guns or any other issue, we will publish his early public appearances schedule. Help snatch a seat away from the majority in Hartford. You don’t have to live in the district to volunteer.
Last night the Democrats chose their candidate for the 53rd. Soon you will have a clear choice.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The weekly meeting of the Connecticut Restoration Coalition http://ct-rc.org/ is scheduled for 5 PM at KING 33 tomorrow in Southington. Last week Robert Spencer of Jihad Watch, http://www.jihadwatch.org/ , delivered a short lecture and led a Q & A for twenty more minutes. This link will take you to the full lecture and a couple of questions.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The host of our meetings, KING 33, is seeking permission to expand its professional capacity into an adjacent building. Chris Fields has asked for support at Tuesday’s Southington Planning & Zoning meeting. More information at this link.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Several patriot groups are readying challenges to Connecticut’s new gun law. Please donate to CCDL http://www.ccdl.us/ and DAFR http://www.dafr.org/
If you’ve got “stuff” you’ve wanted to part with but never had the gumption to do it, perhaps now is the time. CCDL has set up a sort of tag sale on Facebook. Let your imagination run free in inventing other ways to recover cash to donate to the court challenge of a very bad law. Get involved now and stay involved right through the 2014 election.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
5th District Rep. Elizabeth Esty plans to meet her constituents tomorrow afternoon in Kent.
WHAT: Congress on Your Corner in Kent
WHEN: Saturday, May 4 from 2:00 to 3:00 PM
WHERE: Kent Memorial Library, 32 N. Main St, Kent

Guest Blog: Greetings Patriots from Palin Smith Conservative Roundup

GREETINGS PATRIOTS

Robert Spencer of Jihad Watch is coming to Connecticut.
With the terrorist attack in Boston still etched into our national psyche, you may like to hear in person from the man who is alerting America to the encroachment of Sharia Law and its intended goal of destroying the Bill of Rights.
Mr. Spencer will be lecturing at the weekly meeting of the Connecticut Restoration Coalition
http://ct-rc.org/  Bring your own chair and a snack.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The gun grabbers preach public safety in their relentless assault on the Right To Bear Arms. Countering their argument by reciting the 2nd Amendment will not make a dent in their devious designs. We must deploy logic and employ emotions, more than history, to try to breach their beachhead in the hearts of America’s parents.
We attended a North Haven town hall meeting, a public hearing in Shelton and the Hartford CCDL Gun Rights Rally in the past week. Some of the best arguments in favor of the citizens’ traditional rights were individual testimonies about personal safety and public safety.
When you speak to friends, colleagues and family about your own gun ownership,  don’t instantly erect a barrier by invoking the Constitution. Many people don’t know or don’t care. However, they do care about the safety of themselves and their family. Listen to them explain how they would have reacted to the Watertown, Mass. Lockdown, and then slowly reel them in.
The following are links to the three events:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There is also a very strong political theme that threads together all three of these events.
If someone takes a public oath and violates that oath, why would anyone want to have anything to do with that person? Why would you have a system that doesn't punish those that intentionally lie and deceive? How long are you going to be lied to and make excuses for your abuser?
We’ve seen the song and dance routine. They say the law might have been worse.
Well so be it. Remember the prophetic words of Benjamin Franklin and apply them to your own position in the debate that has yet to be fully enjoined.
“They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.”
No safety was obtained. They said it but we all know they lied. They imposed a disgusting set of more regulations. They think we are all petty criminals. They will try to balance the budget on the backs of gun owners. It’s all about money. It always is. They don’t give a damn about public safety!
And we know who they are - we’ve got the list of 133. And that brings me to where we stand today. If you haven’t yet heeded the call to organize for the 2014 election, please heed it now. Send me the name of your state senator. Do you know good people, future leaders whom you would trust more to represent you in Hartford than those 133 scoundrels who voted YES?
We can’t wave a magic wand and change history, but we can change history by volunteering our relentless toil and our sweat. Build your own political groups. We can empower a congress of patriots early next year that can serve as a counter-weight against the two political parties. Now is the time to find and recruit our own brand of candidates for state senator and state representative.
Many patriot groups are coming together in identical purpose. Connecticut is NOT a blue state. We’ve been brainwashed to believe that hogwash. We all desire more rights and less taxes. We all want more freedom, not less. We want to retain our gun rights. We Republicans, We Democrats and We Unaffiliated. There are hundreds of bad laws that need repealing. That’s plan B.
It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people's minds. (Samuel Adams)

If you want to attend the CCDL Gun Rights Rally at the State Capitol Saturday at Noon and don’t have a ride, be advised there are several buses reserving seats, and car pools in the process of being formed. To find a ride or volunteer to drive a full vehicle, follow this link, which is also the Face Book invite to the event.

And there still is plenty of time to print out the PDF of the flyer and post it around your town. Be sure to go back and remove them next week.

Last Saturday at the Connecticut Restoration Coalition  http://ct-rc.org/   meeting at KING 33 in Southington, the sister of the baker who created the cake “seen ‘round the world” attended for the first time. This video tells her story.

THE PRESCOTT BUSH DINNER MAY 20 IN STAMFORD.
The Connecticut Republican Party is set to present an award to Senate Minority Leader, John McKinney, at the dinner. Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker has been booked as the keynote speaker.
If you remember, conservative Tea Party favorite, Walker, handily won a costly recall election last year. This is what can happen in a formerly “blue” state when a good conservative takes the helm of the Republican Party. Walker brought the establishment Republicans together with the Tea Party Conservatives in a stunning victory.
Walker had attracted the ire of unions and national Democrats after transforming Wisconsin into a right to work state. Many Tea Party friends from Connecticut traveled to Wisconsin at their own expense to aid in that campaign.
There is an opportunity to unite established Republicans in Connecticut with conservatives and Tea Party Patriots. Many RTC Chairmen, including those in Enfield and Woodbury, have voiced their intentions to boycott the Prescott Bush Dinner over the announced award being presented to Sen. John McKinney. Most Republicans are highly disappointed with McKinney’s actions during the gun control debate. His vote was observed as trampling on the 2nd Amendment!
If you resent the Senator’s apparent lapse of judgment, you can make your opinion heard in the following manner:
1. Call Chairman Jerry Labriola at the GOP HQ      860-422-8211
2. Call Governor Walker’s office in Madison          608-266-1212
You can call your town RTC chair to find his or her position as well
Faxes and emails are also appropriate.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We do not intend to do damage to the CT Republican Party. The Party has been adept at self-infliction. Perhaps we can learn from this moment in time to follow Governor Walker’s leadership. As a gesture to unite the Party with the people.
I remember a scene from the Academy Award winning movie, BRAVEHEART.
Let us resolve that the Connecticut Republican Party will never again be subjugated to the whims of weak leadership or misguided bi-partisanship!

Guestblog: CT Conservative News Roundup & Meetups

Press Release from Palin Smith
 GREETINGS PATRIOTS:
Please be advised that the Connecticut Restoration Coalition web site is rapidly developing into an excellent source to find out about issues and events. You can subscribe by filling out information on the right side of the home page. http://ct-rc.org/
The Coalition is not a new group. Rather, it’s a hub for many different 2nd Amendment, Tea Party, gun enthusiasts, conservatives, libertarians and other patriot groups to come together on common ground. Meetings are held weekly at 6 PM in KING 33, a centrally-located warehouse facility situated at 75 Aircraft Road in Southington. Off I-84 Exit 32. Go north 0.60 miles and turn left at Dunkin Donuts. Turn left in half a block and follow the Arrows.
Hundreds of people have already attended one or more meetings. There are 20-30 new people every week. One of the initial goals of the groups attending is to help recruit future candidates to run for town offices in 2013. Connecticut’s Boards of Education need a complete overhaul.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The current makeup of the General Assembly consists of  99 Democrat House seats and 22 Democrat Senate seats versus 52 non-Democrat House seats and 14 non-Democrat Senate seats. We believe that if the right candidates emerge or are recruited, and they are fully equipped with the manpower needed, we can come very close to winning parity on Election Day, November 4, 2014.
Too many good candidates on our side in the past have been restrained from achieving their full potential from a scarcity of motivated volunteers. We’ve become brainwashed into believing that Connecticut is a blue state, so we sit home and complain. And the people who do get out to help most times waste their efforts when working to help Federal candidates.
Consider the Gay Rights activists. They comprise a very tiny percentage of our population, yet they get everything they want. WE ARE 10 TIMES their numbers yet we lose. Something is not right. This is why the Connecticut Restoration Coalition is offered as a place to meet, discuss the issues,  bring new ideas and help transform people into new activists.
Connecticut is not a lost cause. We have 20 months to put together something monumental. President Obama will not be on the ballot on November 4, 2014. The high taxing, gun grabbing, decency challenged, arrogant socialists will be all by themselves. Let’s not lose the best opportunity we might ever see again, for restoring our beautiful state to what we know it can be!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There are 36 state senate districts in Connecticut. They are ALL up for grabs in 2014. Just imagine what a “well regulated” team of 100 motivated and adroitly-directed volunteers could accomplish in most of those districts!

From Palin Smith:
Last Saturday our new Patriot’s Hub Meeting in Southington doubled in attendance from the previous week. A portion of the time was dedicated to a workshop. This week’s meeting on Saturday at 5 PM will be focused on a series of discussion groups. If you have special skills or talents, your input will be well received. The following video clip shows a brief snapshot of last week’s grass roots meeting:   http://youtu.be/aeM5moN08ig
