Letter to the Editor: Be Apart of the Solution for Middletown

Below is a letter to the editor from resident William Boylan. Our apologies for not publishing this before the Middletown Republican Town Committee meeting held earlier this week. The platform below is not the official platform of the Town Committee, but one proposed by member William Boylan for consideration. We publish letters to the editor as a courtesy for readers and views are that of the author of such letter; those views may or may not reflect those of the Insider staff.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fellow Republicans, Conservatives and Libertarians:

Let us not forget that the Middletown Republican Town Committee caucuses on Thursday. We meet at the Middletown Police Department, in the Community Room at 7:00. There are many seats still open on the committee and even thought you may not have submitted a letter of intent, it is still possible to be nominated from the floor. PLEASE come and join us and be a part of the solution! YOU are needed and everyone can contribute in some small way. Never think that your voice and small contribution do not matter, because they most certainly do. It is going to be a long, hard slog, but many hands make for light work. Come down and be a part of the process!

In document below, I present to you a proposal for adoption and incorporation into the MRTC Party Platform. Please take a couple of minutes to review it. Should the humble honor of serving on the committee be laid upon me at the caucus, I intend to bring this up for debate, discussion and implementation. Your input and participation are appreciated

Your never to be humble servant, Bill Boylan

P.S. Leave your guns in the car! ;)  LOL!

Proposed Platform for MRTC
  1. To have a continuously active Committee, whose members are dedicated to the betterment of city government and to the principals of a smaller, less intrusive government.
  2. To be involved all in local, state and national elections taking place in the several districts wherein Middletown lies.
  3. The 2013 Party Platform for city government calls for long range planning. The MRTC should adopt such a policy, continuously looking forward 20 or more years.
  4. Members are an under utilized asset. With 60 members, there is the potential to have 12, five-man committees dedicated to as many areas of activity.
  5. Membership on the RTC is not a cocktail and limousine honorarium; it is a sacred trust, requiring personal sacrifice, dedication and commitment.
  6. Participation must be required of every member of the RTC. Anyone unable or unwilling to be an active member of the Committee should resign to allow for others to step in and go to work, or be replaced at the next election.
  7. There is a need for organization, planning, vision and strong leaders in many areas. This need can be fulfilled by delegating responsibilities to committees. Each committee would have a chair, affording people the opportunity to demonstrate their abilities. Those who rise and shine could be groomed as future candidates.
  8. Forming committees would require much discussion and debate about the necessity, scope and purpose of each. Such committees may include:

a) Media Outreach Committee – To effectively take advantage of available resources including print, TV, radio, internet and social media. Also responsible for press releases. (Bill Wilson for Chair)
b) Youth Outreach and Recruitment Committee – The future of the community, the party, state and nation depend on our youth.
c) Communications Committee – Primarily responsible for maintaining a database of contact info on Committee members, candidates and volunteers, distributing that contact info to the members, as needed, particularly at election time. Also responsible for devising a plan to contact members, (email blast), with updates on RTC activity and matters of urgency.
d) Legislative Update Committee – Responsible for keeping members apprised of legislative activities at all levels of government.
e) Candidate Recruitment Committee – To seek out and recruit the best possible candidates.
f) Training Committee – Manning the phone banks at election time is essentially telemarketing. Some sort of training of volunteers would serve to make the phone bank more effective.
g) Technology Committee – To manage, improve and oversee the MRTC web site and social media pages. (note: We should establish a presence on the Tea Party Connection social media site.)
h) Opposition Study and Counter Offensive Committee – To observe and report the strategery of the MDTC. Apparently, the Democrat strategy is working. They control the state, as well the town. They are doing something right and we need to know what it is. We need to consider adapting successful tactics and countering disinformation. Look at the MDTC home page,http://www.dems.info/middletown/index.htm . You will see a list of 22 “accomplishments” in the last two years. One of which is “Closed $8million dollar budget deficit in 2011-2012 budget.” The bios lower on the page, talk of “accountability” and “keeping taxes low”. These false claims of success need to be countered.
i) School Curriculum Oversight Committee – To monitor what children are taught in school and assure they are not being indoctrinated into believing America is “bad” and government is the solution to all problems.
j) Minority Outreach and Recruitment Committee - WE are the party of inclusion and civil liberties. The conspicuous shortage of minorities caucusing with Republicans should be of concern.
k) Jury Rights and Powers Education Committee – To inform people of the jury’s
power to judge the validity of the law, as well as the application of the law, in addition to determining guilt or innocence.
l) A committee to work with the RTCs of our neighboring towns for the purpose of sharing ideas, tactics and strategeries, to work together for the common goal of electing conservativeRepublicans and restoring the republic.

    GREETINGS PATRIOTS Jan. 7, 2014

Something amazing happened on New Year's Day. It was as if a giant incandescent light bulb lit up in so many patriots' heads. The year 2014 was set off and so were the alarm clocks of thousands of political Rip Van Winkles. In two days we received dozens of requests to be added to this publication. We spoke with at least three new people who are eager to run for state rep or state senate. We found more patriots who will form volunteer groups in some of the 133 districts currently miss-represented by Constitution-trampling gun grabbers. Two people expressed interest inprimarying Republican Royal incumbents. All in all a fabulous commencement to Election 2014.

In the next month or two we will be publishing the names and contact information for the patriot advocacy teams. If you want to participate, replyhere. We need your name and the name of your state senator. The sooner we begin to work, the sooner our influence will grow. And to remind you of the most important process that starts to occur next week, we repost this information about how to win election to your towns' RTC. All the power to select candidates resides in the Republican Town Committees.
SEE THE ATTACHMENT INCLUDED.

------------------------------------------------

Governor Dannel Malloy set the tone for 2014 when he admonished the law-abiding gun owners to follow the new law.

---------------------------------------------

New Year's Eve

We joined with other patriots at the Middletown Department of Public Safety building during the afternoon to observe, report and interface with the constant flow of gun owners as they arrived to meet the deadline to register magazines, weapons or to submit paperwork. We stayed until the last person at 5 PM. The following play list includes 26 separate videos. (a coincidence that there are 26 Republican gun grabbers) We interviewed a wide assortment of over 30 people. Their responses to our questions filled the spectrum of what we expected: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL5wsVsNCEygqB3lwTFuAfNseJTwULXBu3

Conservative Roundup: Rally in Middletown Today! by Palin Smith

Below is a guest blog piece by Palin Smith, views expressed are not necessarily those of the Insider Staff.
   GREETINGS PATRIOTS

We certainly learned a lot in 2013. We learned who were our friends and who were our enemies in the Connecticut Legislature. We watched the national Republican Party declare war against the folks who won them the House of Representatives. The Democrats stayed true to form. We know what they want.

A whole new group of citizens realized that laying low and keeping quiet is not politically healthy. Connecticut gun owners are lining up in Middletown these last days of December. We will join them tomorrow, December 31, not as “last minute Larry’s”, but as objective reporters. Who will still be in line when the doors close?

We will be packing lots of John McKinney Must Go signs for people who wish to demonstrate their dislike and distrust of the back-stabbing gun-grabber. We will be recruiting among the law-abiding gun owners who committed no crimes in 2013.
But after tomorrow those folks who did not comply with an unjust and unconstitutional law will become instant felons.

There are lawsuits aimed at overturning the new gun ban. But the courts are stacked with liberal Democrats. The only sure fire way to hit the bulls eye is to eject the oath breakers on Election Day, November 4, 2014. The first new business of the new 2015 legislature must be to repeal the gun ban and make sure a new governor will sign it. But first we must win. And we can't wait until next October to start paying attention.
–-------------------------------------------
NEW YEAR'S EVE AT MIDDLETOWN DPS

1111 Country Club Road...off I-91 Exit 20

We plan to be there tomorrow with McKinney Must Go signs at about 11 AM.
We will be interviewing and more. Any Republican candidate for governor would be a fool not to work the line for volunteers and votes. But Republicans with rare exceptions are not known for their imagination.

Joe Visconti will be there early.  Joe was there today campaigning.

----------------------------------------
CHICAGO REVOLT AGAINST MACHINE POLITICS

At the same time the Royal Republicans declared war against the grass roots TEA PARTY, some Chicago Democrats are beginning to embrace it. The video above is like secret agent stuff out of James Bond or Robert Ludlum.

When the inner city Democrats who dare to stray off the Plantation find out the Tea Party is NOT a Republican thing....and that the Republicans are trying to kill it, they will embrace it further.

What a great Christmas present for the Liberty movement! More signs of a 2014 major political uprising.
–------------------------------------------
BRIDGEPORT RALLY

A week ago we attended a 14th and 15th Amendment rally in Bridgeport at the Police Department. About 20 patriots braved the rainy evening. The precipitation stopped for exactly an hour so the TV could report live from the scene. Two networks and cable were present.

GREETINGS PATRIOTS

JOHN MCKINNEY MUST GO This week got off with a successful rally in Southport.
Not many donors attended a John McKinney fundraiser at a popular restaurant.
Several new activists including Jack from Bethlehem, whose natural talent was amazing.
Several videos may be found attached to this view of Jack describing why he was there in the dark so far from his cozy home 40 miles away.

There are two men whom must never be elected governor. First is Governor Dannel Malloy because we've seen what damage he can inflict. Second is John McKinney, who can never be trusted again to lead.

–---------------------------------------------

GETTYSBURG ADDRESS Tuesday was the 150th anniversary of Lincoln's Gettysburg address. The New Haven Museum commemorated the date by hosting an enthusiastic history professor and an amazing Lincoln re-enactor. We videoed the entire presentation. Questions from the 100 people in attendance were particularly of interest. There are seven clips in all. You may view them all by following this link.

–-----------------------------------------------

TEA PARTY CHALLENGES MALLOY TO DEBATE Bob MacGuffie, the spokesman for the Ct Tea Party reacted to the Governor's attack on our Tea Party Patriots. You can see what led up to the challenge, and then read an article in the Hartford Courant blog.

And acting on a request from Tom Dudchik of the Capitol Report, we traveled to Fairfield to record MacGuffie's video challenge. Dudchik said he intends to make a news story of this challenge and will feature it on his Sunday morning TV show.

–--------------------------------------------------------

SHAWN IN BRISTOL Last Tuesday, Nov. 12, we backed up Bristol anti-Agenda 21 activist Shawn Ruest, in his attempt to awaken his city in time to forestall a big mistake.
We all should become aware of any regional unelected governmental entities that threaten our way of life. If you don't pay attention you might just be left with a big bill to try to pay off. We should have at least one Shawn in each CT town.

–--------------------------------

COMMON CORE The next day, Wednesday Nov. 13 we attended the regular Plymouth Board of Education meeting. At that meeting were possibly the best team of Common Core fighters ever assembled at a CT small town BOE meeting. It was historic to watch our friends from Plymouth and other towns work together to help educate the BOE and others at the meeting. If you would like these patriots to help you reject the Common Core State Standards in your town, contact us.

–--------------------------------------------------

WALLINGFORD Be advised that there will be a state wide meeting on Common Core this Saturday, Nov. 23 from 1-4 PM at the Wallingford Parks and Rec. Building at 6 Fairfield Blvd. And please join the STOP Common Core Face Book group to keep constantly informed. Almost 700 members and growing fast.

–--------------------------------------

SAVE OUR STATE since the spring we've watched a group of patriots form a political action group in the Quiet Corner. After seven months the group has grown to exceed the activity of local Republican Town committees. They manned stations at the polling places in the 29th state senate district on Election Day. They used issues to attract attention, educate and persuade the voters. Have you ever seen the CT GOP do that?

Led by Duffy Dauphinais of Killingly, their goal is to supply enough volunteers to topple Donald Williams from the State Senate. They are still searching for the best candidate to oppose Williams, and when they find that person they will have a ready-made campaign infrastructure ready to roll. If you would like to join the District 29 chapter of Save Our State you can follow Duffy's prompting in this video. And you can start your own group anywhere, any time. And we will help.

–--------------------------------

MARCH AGAINST MAIN STREAM MEDIA CT We stayed in the Quiet Corner Friday night. First thing on Saturday morning we headed westward to attend our first ever March Against Main Stream Media CT.
A varied group of patriots gathered in front of the Hartford Courant Building at 1 PM.

Joe Visconti and Dani McEvoy hosted the event which lasted over two hours. The weather was perfect. You can view the highlights by linking from this video interview.

–-----------------------------------------------------------

ELIZABETH ESTY What's a Democrat to do these days? The Congressman is getting bashed from the right and the left. 2014 is going to be so much fun to watch. But so much more fun to participate. Join up now and be a hero.

–----------------------------------------------------------

We often travel the state to attend and record pertinent events and rallies. Along the way we seek out welcome signs in every town. Our goal is to collect an image in all 169 towns and cities by April 4, 2014. To make things clearer, here's an example of our recent work. Today we picked up five more towns. We're almost half way to our goal.
If you like beautiful music you will enjoy this. http://youtu.be/H8ZIT38KYL0

"One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors." - Plato

Palin Smith

ps. Ray Hackett, a veteran reporter/op ed writer for the Norwich Bulletin admitted what we knew all along. The recent election results indicate that Democrats are in trouble in CT. If only the CT GOP doesn't screw up again!!

Guestblog: Conservative Round up Palin Smith

Below is a guest blog piece by Palin Smith, views expressed are not necessarily those of the Insider Staff.
 GREETINGS PATRIOTS

Now that it's got a few aggressive national leaders, the Tea Party is making a resurgence all across America. The attacks against us are merciless and nonstop because the Progressive Left is terrified of increased competition for the minds and souls of Americans. As Trevor Loudon said in Stamford last Monday, they thought they had it in the bag. http://youtu.be/xNXjyye_j9g

Chris Murphy and Richard Blumenthal, Connecticut's own US Senators, dispel the influence of the Tea Party going forward. They say it peaked in 2010. They blame it for their troubles.

Add a comment to the article.

We're asking you to prove them wrong. Have you ever seen the classic movie, SPARTACUS, starring Kirk Douglas, Tony Curtis and Lawrence Olivier? Near the conclusion, the defeated fighters from the slave army are offered life if they turn over Spartacus to the Roman general. They stand in solidarity dooming themselves to crucifixion rather than revealing their leader.

The Tea Party conservative movement stands between Socialism and Freedom in America. We will try to achieve the emotional moment to further solidify our members at a future Congressman's public forum or town hall meeting. I envision myself or another standing to make a statement about how we are tired of being vilified for protecting the Constitution.

I will look around and ask if there are Tea Party people in the crowd. We stand up in twos and threes and announce, “I am Tea Party!” Video of that moment will be our gift to the Liberty movement. We hope it may act like a shot of adrenalin in Connecticut and America. We hope others will copy the plan, which I label THE SPARTACUS TACTIC.

For this to succeed we must be a huge group in the meeting, at least 30%. We don't know when the next opportunity will arise, but we're hoping for one on a weekend. Who among you will make the trip to be part of this plan? There may be only 24 to 48 hours notice. If we succeed there will be no question that the Tea Party is alive and strong in Connecticut. In any-sized town hall meeting 50-100 would be fantastic. Please respond and we will create a special list, just as we've done with our Twitter Team of 30. This is how we stick it to Murphy.
–----------------------------------------------------------
AT Yale University at least one professor presented proof that the Tea Party Patriots are better informed in science. http://www.ijreview.com/2013/10/87474-yale-professors-surprising-discovery-tea-party-supporters-scientifically-literate/

So we global warming deniers may be right? Dread the thought Senator Murphy, who on July 19 predicted the end of the world in 87 years. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AayK4EvkK5U&feature=share&list=PL5wsVsNCEygqLUk999Rtqmsgps9YonXdx

And the Global Warming/Climate Change lemmings have been salivating for extreme weather ever since the storm that creamed New Orleans. They are “denied” every year as fewer and fewer hurricanes threaten North America. We know this lull is only temporary, and we appreciate it. The other side laments it. http://www.climatedepot.com/2013/10/18/new-study-2013-ranks-as-one-of-the-least-extreme-us-weather-years-ever-many-bad-weather-events-at-historically-low-levels/

Now tell me, who do you believe? An Al Gore wannabe or your own two eyes.
–----------------------------------------------

If the Tea Party is irrelevant as Murphy and Blumy profess, then why do they obsess about it? Here's a short list of some of the rants against our Tea Party:

–----------------------------------------------------------------------
The Republican Party should fully embrace the conservative base. In some states it does. Those are the states where Republicans win. And our enemies are so concerned that they advise the Republican Party...........

–---------------------------------------------------------------------------

SARAH PALIN is a friend who gives good advice.
–-----------------------------------------------------------
TREVOR LOUDON A week ago we were very fortunate to meet a world renowned historian and expert in totalitarian regimes. New Zealand's Trevor Loudon was hosted by the Stamford/Greenwich Tea Party at the Stamford SBC Restaurant, owned and operated by Republican State Rep. Dave Rutigliano. Trevor lectured for nearly an hour and took questions for another hour. Nobody dozed off. Enjoy the new HD quality video play list. You will be fascinated by 21 video clips. http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL5wsVsNCEygoz54hwMyMyiK49j_hSsRwn

DAVE KOPACZ, an expert on Agenda 21was invited to speak at the Franco-American Club in North Windham last Tuesday night. Dave is the conservation officer from Ware, Massachusetts as well as a fervent Massachusetts Republican leader. Dave's specialty is PROPERTY RIGHTS. This presentation is a must for anyone who lives in Connecticut, whether you own property or not.
---------------------------------------------------------------

SCOTT WILSON the President of CCDL, the premier gun rights advocacy group in the state was invited to deliver the Keynote Speech at the 2013 Libertarian Party Convention at Cabela's in East Hartford. Connecticut's Libertarians are poised to surprise us on Election Day. Watch Norwich.
Scott spoke and then fielded questions for over an hour. Wilson is a hero to Connecticut's firearm enthusiasts and 2nd Amendment defenders. A most respected man among all grass roots constitutionalists. http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL5wsVsNCEygrA44ZCm-O0axgj1MQWI3mv
–-------------------------------------------------------------

LOCAL CAMPAIGNS are in the final stretch. Only two weeks before the election. Please help if you can. Don't be embarrassed to show up late. Every volunteer is cherished. If you don't know a candidate in your town, reply and we will do our best to match you up with one close by. All you learn this year will better prepare you for the epic battle in 2014 to win control of the General Assembly.

We have our favorites in New Britain, Bloomfield, Plymouth/Terryville, West Haven and Middletown. All politics is local. We are all political animals. And it's imperative to get your family and friends to vote. Make a list tonight and be sure to call them all, the day before Election Day.

DICK CHENEY must have obtained his new heart from a Tea Party Patriot. Cheney has only good things to say about the infant movement that shows precocious signs on the overpasses, in the streets and in Congress. http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2013/oct/21/dick-cheney-calls-tea-party-boon-gop/

It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people's minds. (Samuel Adams)

Pass the matches or get out of the way…..

PS: A story out of Florida you will like.

Molly Salafia is running for Treasurer of Middletown. She has vowed to eliminated the job and forfeit her $8000 stipend if elected. How's that for a candidate to support?!!

Guestblog: Conservative Round up by Palin Smith

Below is a guest blog piece by Palin Smith, views expressed are not necessarily those of the Insider Staff.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
             GREETINGS PATRIOTS

TED CRUZ

Congressman John Larson was trying so hard to sell Obamacare for the umpteenth time to his own loyal constituents Sunday that he forgot what state he was in. Perhaps he was daydreaming about the stories good pal Chris Dodd recently recounted about tinsel town. Anyway, our video was picked up by the Hartford Courant blog. Now more people can make fun of old John.

JOHN LARSON
This is our first newsletter in two weeks. Our 5-year old computer workhorse, Blumybyter, kicked the bucket list. All the data was saved. And future videos will all be in High Definition. More time consuming but much better quality. Better for TV. To view most of the Larson town hall meeting (a work in progress) follow this link to see how desperate the Democrats are.
–--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
AR FERNANDEZ
One of the videos we were unable to share last week was with our good friend, AR Fernandez in Middletown. AR is running for common council (city council). His nickname is indicative of the intensity with which he would guard our freedoms in his town or your town. Contact his campaign after you watch his story. There is no limit on the number of volunteers Angel would welcome.
–--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PATTIE DEHUFF AND BILL HEERING

Watch our interviewing skills put to the task.
–--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CHESHIRE REPUBLICANS
Last Friday we were invited to the 27th annual Cheshire RTC Pasta Dinner. Great food and best friends. Here's what a successful fundraiser looks like. This is why the CRTC is at the top of local Conservative political action committees.

The tall man in the red shirt is John Pepper, current vice chair of the Cheshire Republican town committee. Few people recognize John as a Connecticut legend. After attending the April 15, 2009 Hartford Tea Party, John returned home and started the first weekly Tea Party in America. In Connecticut. The group assembled every Monday for over two years without missing a day due to rain, heat, snow or cold. The history of Connecticut's Tea Party movement is nearing five years. Pepper's Patriots are alive and well. http://youtu.be/7Yx9VDCQtOs
–-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Local elections are revving up to full speed in this last month before November 5. We urge everyone who can invest a couple hours or more each week, either in the evenings or on the weekends to select a candidate to support and volunteer. If you don't know a good conservative running, contact me here or on Face Book and I'll try to match you up.

Jessica Chiong, the anti-common core leader needs help in west Haven. She's running for BOE. We will be campaigning for Bill Heering and Pattie DeHuff in Plymouth/Terryville for several hours next Saturday, Oct. 12. followed by a pizza party.
–--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
BRISTOL
There's an Agenda 21 plan trying to be sneaked by Bristol's citizens. Some of our friends will speak out against it tomorrow night at the regular City council Meeting. Here's a link to the meeting.

And a short description of the plan from local Bristol activist Shawn Ruest.

"Along with these planning grants come stipulations. Pursuant to Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968 (12 U.S.C. 1701u) and HUD’s implementing regulations at 24 CFR part 135, the Sustainable Communities Regional Planning Grant Program shall, to the greatest extent feasible, be directed to low-and very low-income persons. According to Bristol officials, the development adjacent to the rail is to be for an upscale transit oriented development and a private developer is investing in the structure, contrary to indications on their site that they actively seek federal funds.

If indeed the development is not focal to low income housing, the city will be in breach of planning agreement and subject to litigation " or other legal proceedings designed to require compliance with the statute, regulations, any terms or conditions of this award agreement, or other pertinent authorities." Secretary Shaun Donovan has promised "HUD is enhancing its enforcement techniques by initiating investigations on our own. There are no stones we won’t turn. There are no places we won’t go."
With Bristol having sought Sustainable Communities Green Streets grants in the past year and no physical record of receiving them, it is unclear whether the planing is indeed under direct request of town officials or through this regional planning agency. Nonetheless, an unidentified windfall grant has arrived for zoning regulation purposes with the intent to force "blighted" properties in the downtown out to make room for open space (parking spots). Every aspect of smartgrowth is moving forward. This is indeed Agenda 21."
Come as a supporter, spectator or participant. The public participation is early into the meeting.
