News from the Tea Party Caucus of Connecticut

Press Release
May 6, 2014

It is very exciting to announce the first slate of candidates to be endorsed by the Tea Party Caucus of the CT GOP Town Committees.  The TPC is a state-wide coalition of Republican Town Committee members dedicated to nominating and electing Conservative candidates who are committed to upholding the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of Connecticut and to a smaller, less intrusive and fiscally responsible government.

By majority vote, we, the members of the Tea Party Caucus of the CT GOP Town Committees hereby endorse the following candidates:

For Treasurer – Bob Eick

Bob’s decades of experience in capital investment and business management is what is needed in Connecticut, today.  He has a proven track record of private sector success that can we can “capitalize” on.  Bob will put our fiscal house in order, assuring the soundness of our pension and other investments.

For Attorney General – Kie Westby

Former Marine and Wesleyan University grad, Kie stands for repeal of the State income tax and abandoning Common Core, leaving education decisions in the hands of local school districts and the voters.  He pledges to use the Constitution as “an operations manual” and to support the Bill of Rights.

For Secretary of the State – Peter Lumaj

Peter escaped Communist Albania along with three of his brothers.  His parents and seven other siblings were not so lucky and suffered greatly at the hands of the communist government.  Having actually seen and endured political persecution that actually cost lives gives Peter a unique perspective.  He will diligently protect the integrity of the election process and uphold and defend our Constitutions.

For Lieutenant Governor – Penny Bacchiochi

Penny’s years of service as Representative to Stafford Springs give her the knowledge and experience needed to be an effective liaison between the Governor’s office and the legislature.  She will stand up against high taxes, job-killing over regulation, and federal control over education while working to create a business friendly environment that is conducive to job growth and preserving our civil rights.

For Governor – Martha Dean

A nationally known, highly successful and well respected attorney, Martha will reign in an out of control and over reaching state government that is apathetic to the needs and plight of our Citizens, including Justina Pelletier.  She has worked in business and constitutional law, is an advocate for preserving the environment and wants to overhaul the family law system (that is currently failing our state’s families) and to preserve the civil rights of all Connecticut residents.  Martha will get our fiscal house in order, work to reduce business crippling regulation, repair and modernize our state transportation system and assure local control over our children’s education.

All of these candidates recognize the connection between the Right of every Citizen to keep and bear arms in defense of themselves and the State and a free and open society where liberty is preserved for all.  Without the Second Amendment to the US Constitution and Article 1, Section 15 of the Connecticut Constitution, all other civil rights are in jeopardy of falling to the whims or tyranny of the powerful.  This slate of candidates will assure that future generations have the Right and opportunity to defend themselves, their families and the State.

This team represents Connecticut’s best hope for reversing decades of legislative and administrative mismanagement.  Their goals and values are similar, enabling them to work in harmony toward creating a prosperous, well educated, free and safe state where all Citizens can enjoy the blessings of Liberty.

Ridge Road: Free Speech or Hate Speech?

Local artist and resident of  Middletown David Schulz for years has used his front yard as a way of advertising his political views & musings. Currently on the front yard of his Ridge Road residence located diagonally across the street from Farm Hill Elementary School's main entrance, Schulz has signs displayed aligning the Tea Party with the Taliban terrorist organization. Schulz's opinion is protected by the First Amendment.

Like the Nazi regime, the Taliban's name is synonymous is known for global atrocities of unfathomable magnitude. Are there certain lines that should not be crossed and who decides? Do double standards exist?
The 3  signs on Schulz's lawn read:
"The Taliban doesn't need
to destroy American,
the Tea Party is doing it for them."
We ask readers to comment. What if this were your neighbor?

Guestblog: Tea Party IRS Protest Around CT via Palin Smith

Videographer/Photographer/Activist and Insider frequent Guest Blogger Palin Smith took some great photos around Connecticut today capturing Conservatives, Unaffiliated, Libertarians, Republicans joining the Tea Party organized rally of citizen activists protesting the IRS this week around the state. Protesters took to the streets around the state and country. In Connecticut, protesters were at both the Hartford and New Haven branches of the IRS to take a stand against the unsolicited auditing of Tea Party and Patriot groups by the IRS.
Check out more of Palin's video documentaries of the Tea Party and conservative movements in CT on his youtube page: here

Guestblog: Greetings Patriots A Conservative Round up from Palin Smith

Below is a roundup of Conservative events being held this week. Complied and submitted by Palin Smith. Opinions are that of Palin Smith and do not necessarily reflect that of Insider Staff.
GREETINGS PATRIOTS

Last night at the brand new Greene-Hills School (K-8) in Bristol, a place that smells like a new car, a sparse crowd came out to hear Governor Malloy. Three patriots stood up to oppose bully Dannel. PRESCOTT BUSH DINNER Monday May 20.
For months there has been much discussion all across Connecticut, within the ranks of gun enthusiasts, Tea Party patriots, other liberty groups and especially Republican town committees, about what to do, if anything, at the Prescott Bush Dinner next Monday in Stamford. The discussion ended abruptly by news yesterday that demands a determined response.
We have learned that at least eight bus-loads of union stooges will be dropped off at the Stamford Hilton to stage a Scott Walker protest rally. Wisconsin Governor, Scott Walker, was a target of a hateful recall election last year after his successful policies of making Wisconsin a “right to work” state and repealing collective bargaining brought on the wrath of the entire political left wing. Walker won a stunning victory after he brought together Republicans and Tea Party Patriots in a marvelous display of serious cooperation. We pray that Connecticut Republicans would follow Walker’s lead.
Wisconsin was once where Connecticut is now. Walker showed that strong conservative leadership can pay off. And that’s in stark contrast to what the Republican Party in Connecticut has become - little more than a franchise of the Democrat Party, at least among the leadership. Having Governor Walker visit Connecticut might be a first step in educating the CT GOP, if it listens.
So here’s what we have planned:
1. If you are a 2A activist or gun enthusiast and despise how the Republican leadership trampled on the Constitution April 4, 2013http://youtu.be/dhpdn2WHFvY this will be your opportunity to protest Sen. John McKinney, who is slated to receive an award at the dinner. There will be scores of newly minted “John McKinney Must Go yard signs for loan. Pick one up to hold and return it at the end of the rally. The yard signs were offered by an anonymous donor. Traveling the distance might be out of your comfort zone, but let me tell you from years of experience; attending this rally will inspire you.

Guest Blog: Greetings Patriots by Palin Smith Conservative Roundup

The following is my response to Google after they informed me the above post had been removed for violating "community standards".  More than nine years after it was originally posted on May 15th, 2013.

The only way to contact Google was to edit the post and submit it for review.  Google approved and re-published the following, which only goes to show that the "review" was conducted by an algorithm.

SMH

What on earth are you talking about? Specifically, how does this post violate any guidelines?

I no longer have access to the post since it was unpublished. How could I possibly edit the post if I don't have access to it or know what part of it violated guidelines and how so?

This post is over nine years old. What prompted the review? How was it "flagged"?  Why, after nine years, is there suddenly a problem?

Your email mentions my "content has violated our Malware and Viruses policy".  The idea that malware or a virus was deliberately put in the blog post is absurd!  Specifically, what was the nature of the malware/virus and why did it take nine years for it to manifest?

Maybe there was a hacker. Maybe Blogger should transition blog addresses to an https prefix.

Below is Google's notice of cancelation (sic):

Guest Video: "What We have here is a failure to Communicate"

Video by Palin Smith, who describes himself as "a videographer of the tea party movement in Connecticut. He is always ready to capture the image of a politician, a train wreck or a plague, but that's being redundant!"

Video tag by Smith: Last week, in New Haven, Representative Rosa DeLauro (3rd District) a 22-year incumbent Democrat was asked if she planned to debate her Republican challenger, Wayne Winsley. Listen for yourself to her reply and then listen to Wayne Winsley from two weeks ago. Is it a case of "what we got here is failure to communicate", or is this a case of ignorance by design?

Part of the 3rd District covers Middletown.
