Herbst Gets in the Game, Announces Run for Governor

Middletown - Yesterday afternoon, I announced that I am running for Governor because I cannot stand by and watch our state continue to struggle under the failed leadership of insiders in Hartford. As the son of a football coach, I know that to make a difference, you have to get in the game. Now is not the time for political gamesmanship or gimmicksThe people of our state deserve honest, straight forward leadership and need proven reformers and Hartford outsiders who are willing to make the tough calls to enact real change.I believe leadership starts with leading by example.

That is why yesterday I announced my lead-by-example pledge. As a candidate, and if honored enough to become Governor, I will:

Only by changing the culture in Hartford and by electing candidates who will lead by example can we implement the kind of fundamental change our state so desperately needs.

That is why I am calling on every candidate for governor, in both parties, to agree to this lead-by-example pledge.

In what promises to be a congested race this pledge will give voters a clear choice between the candidates truly committed to them and reform and those that are out to advance their own interests and preserve the status quo in Hartford.

Best, Tim Herbst
