Ten Drivers win Middletown Car Cruise Awards

(Middletown, CT) The Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce announced the Sponsor Awards for Middletown’s 19th Annual Cruise Night on Main Powered by NAPA on June 15, 2016.

We were quite fortunate to have a beautiful day and the 19th Annual Cruise Night on Main was a major success on Wednesday evening,” said Chamber President Larry McHugh. “This was once again a terrific event that attracted thousands of people and close to 1000 classic cars to downtown Middletown.”

“I would like to again thank the City of Middletown, our sponsors, and everyone who worked to make 19th Annual Cruise Night on Main a success. We are already looking forward to next year.”

The annual event benefits Middletown youth programs, including the Hal Kaplan Middletown Mentor Program, Middletown Recreation Programs, and the Middletown Summer Youth Employment Program.

The following awards were given out:

Best In Show Award – Powered by NAPA – winner is Eric Hansen of Westbrook for his 1970 Orbit Orange Pontiac GTO Ram Air III

Veteran’s Choice Award – presented by Jackson Chevrolet – winner is Bob Chadd of Durham for his 1957 Black Chevrolet Bel Air

Main Drag Award - presented by Downtown Business District – winner is Neil Ferwerda of Cobalt for his 1977 Teal & White Ford F250

All American Award – presented by All American Productions – winner is Scott Lynch of Centerbrook for his 1954 Blue on Blue Oldsmobile Super 88 Hard Top

Liberty’s Choice Award - presented by Liberty Bank – winner is Guy Monteforte of South Windsor for 1973 Blue Plymouth Baracuda

Apple Rehab Choice Award – presented by Apple Rehab – winner is Eddie Langley of Middletown for his 1966 Red Chevrolet Corvette Coupe

Flood’s Choice Award – presented by Flood Law Firm – winner is Bob Cote of Clinton for his 1980 Black Chevrolet Corvette

AAA Diamond Award - presented by AAA Cromwell – winner is Tom Melia of Portland for his 1936 Black Ford Cabriolet

The Sparkling Clean Award – presented by Servpro of Middletown / New Britain – winner is Rick Bennett of Danbury for his 1939 Black Diamond T Wrecker

Mayor’s Choice Award- presented by Mayor Daniel Drew – winner is Robert Gasparri of Waterbury for his 1954 Teal Chevrolet 210
