The ability of the surviving justices on the U.S. Supreme Court to reason objectively is impaired now and forevermore.  The court is dead.  It's legitimacy has been destroyed by the suspicious death of Antonin Scalia.  Every one of the surviving justices will now be looking over their shoulder.  Everyone of them will worry that a target is painted on their robes.

It is not even necessary to resort to a conspiracy theory.  The known facts and the appearances are disturbing enough.  It is a fact that not one medical professional examined the body to declare him officially dead.  Instead, over the phone, a Justice of the Peace name Cinderella Guevara (?!?) took the U.S. Marshall's description and declared him dead.  It is obvious that everything was done to avoid taking his body to a hospital.  Then all hell would have broken loose.  The bruises, the puncture wound, and other evidence of foul play would have been part of an official medical record.

The surviving justices are quite familiar with these matters.  They know something is wrong too.  There is no assurance something similar will not happen to them.  Forget objectivity, forget legal analysis, forget the whole concept of jurisprudence.  This is now replaced with the prudence of surviving for another day.  This court can no longer function, their rulings will be tainted and have no true legitimacy.
