Cirque du Soleil is bringing its spectacular show OVO to Hartford this June, and a limited number of tickets will be sold to benefit youth circus programs run by ARTFARM in Hartford and Middletown.

100 tickets for the Opening Night performance on Wednesday, June 15 at 7:30 pm at the Hartford XL Center have been made available by Cirque du Soleil for ARTFARM to sell at the regular price, but proceeds of the sale will benefit ARTFARM’s social circus programs targeting at-risk youth. ARTFARM runs circus programs for young people in Hartford as well as the Middletown-based touring youth circus Circophony, which is a collaboration with Oddfellows Playhouse.
“This is an incredible opportunity for Connecticut families to purchase tickets to OVO while supporting local circus for youth,” said ARTFARM Executive Director Dic Wheeler. “Cirque du Soleil supports social circus programs around the world, and we are proud to be selected by them to benefit from this performance. It will not cost you anything extra to purchase your tickets through ARTFARM, but the proceeds will support local kids getting access to quality circus programming. Don’t delay! And if you would rather buy tickets for some young circus performers who might not otherwise be able to attend, contact us and we can help make that happen.”

ARTFARM is a Middletown-based non-profit, founded in 2001, which cultivates high-quality theater and circus with a commitment to simple living, environmental sustainability and social justice. In addition to Circophony and other ongoing youth circus programs, ARTFARM is known for its touring environmental education circus, Circus for a Fragile Planet, and annual outdoor Shakespeare in the Grove overlooking the Connecticut River Valley in Middletown.
