Drew To Take 3rd Trip of Year

Drew scheduled to take his third trip in less than a year in office! Will this one also be funded by you? The Insider was the first to break the news of Mayor Dan Drew's secret trip to  $5,000 China on our dime. The mayor has yet to provide a line item expense report or trip itinerary of this trip to the public and any indication of just how it served the greater good. We also informed readers when last spring Drew spent $1,000 of public monies to  meet with CT Representatives Rosa DeLaura and Richard Blumenthal in Washington D.C. to "fast track" the City's acquisition of  property on Mile Lane, called a "surplus federal property." This project had long been a done deal, and the trip really wasn't necessary. Unfortunately the Mayor had not heard of the recent invention of the conference call. This trip was funded by taxpayers. Drew makes frequent trips to Hartford to lobby alongside Councilman Berch, as reported by the Middletown Press. September 4th Dan Drew will join bff Rep. Matt Lesser at the Democratic National Convention in North Carolina to present the Connecticut Democrat's nomination for president. Whether he is in Hartford lobbying, campaigning with Rosa Delauro or Joe Serra, palling around with Big Dan, or shooting the breeze with Matt Lesser, one thing is for sure- Dano isn't at City Hall, let alone most times even within city limits.  Is he ever here? Where is Dano going next?

  5. The mayor is not a puppet!! He was the last creation of Jim Henson, therefore, he would be a Muppet. Yes, he is definitely controlled by the Serra Regime... Notice the lefties will not go there with that stuff, they say: "Do as I say not as I do."

  6. Dannyboy is giving away Vets Park for a doggy pissing ground, shameful. He has some sort of bromance with Lesser who has said numerous times he wants to be nothing but a career politician. Ugh, I am a democrat, but will be voting for adults this time around.

  7. Dear Anon:

Whenever someone says that a are a Democrat and I will be voting for the R's and vice-versa, I don't believe it.

I do agree that these 2: DD and ML have given free passes due to their Democrat philosophies and positions. Matt, a failed Wesleyan Student has become a "sell out"/career politician and Drew was able to control the Wes vote, which entitled him to take over the office by 545 votes. (Why doesn't the Patch or Eye or Insider do a story on what Wesleyan students voted twice in the 2011 election.. If Wes, were a Right leaning school I 'm sure we would see the Ponytail or E4E al over it.. Oh well, not a perfect world.

No Name! I want to Keep my Job

  10. Our country has the highest industry taxes in the world. We have the highest income and property taxes in the country. Dan claimed to be trying to get jobs from China, but in reality he went on a predetermined pre-planned trip to China to visit with Wesleyan adjuncts who are affiliates for the University China program that has been in existence for several years now. The Republican Council members wrote a budget that lowered taxes, the previous Mayor Seb Giuliano tried several times to lower taxes but the Democratic controlled council lead by Tom Serra vetoed it every time. We have mentioned numerous times the previous mayor attempted to lower taxes, but apparently voters do not care.
To clarify Anon 10:30, Giuliano went to Sicily for a week in his third term for the sister city 100 year anniversary, and used travel money for 1 leg of his flight. To Anon 10:28, aww shucks! We would love to print post cards, but alas setting up an llc to print them and having to deal with what needs to be done to satisfy protocol etc is way difficult. So many regulations to get a small business started its just not possible, where have we heard that before... Someday our goal is to get a monthly print version so that we can distribute to non-web savvy folks. For now, feel free to make your own post cards, etc and share and share alike! Thank you for your readership!
