Local candidate & College Republicans of CT Chair Remembers Sept. 11

South Fire District, combined with Westfield &
 Middletown held a 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony today

Below is a message from the Federation of College Republicans written by chair Emmakristina Sveen. Sveen, is also running for Treasurer & Board of Education in Middletown. Thank you for the heartfelt words & on behalf of all Insider staff keep the memories of the victims of the 9/11 attacks in your prayers today. 

To all Connecticut College Republicans...and all students alike, 

This Friday will mark the 14th anniversary of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. And in honor of the nearly 3,000 Americans who died at the hands of this dreadful day -- men, women, children, mothers & fathers, aunts & uncles, grandparents -- fallen officers, first responders of all capacities -- we would like to encourage you to commemorate all of these heroes, victims and witnesses on this 9/11 Remembrance Day. 

On Thursday at 5:30 PM, there will be a state wide commemoration service at the Living 9/11 Memorial in Sherwood Island State Park in Westport, CT. (http://www.ctpost.com/news/article/State-s-9-11-ceremony-set-for-Thursday-in-6492643.php)

There are various 9/11 memorials around the state where you can pay your respects, or even just lighting a candle and having a moment of silence on your individual campus this Friday is incredibly impactful.
