Reply to Journal Inquirer Editorial Against "Act for America" Rally

Editor's Note:  This letter from Dot Cutter was written in response to Chris Powell's editorial in the Journal Inquirer.  In his editorial, Powell states that Christianity and Judaism are "just as incompatible with democracy as sharia is."  I find this surprising coming from Mr. Powell.  First, he knows we live in a republic, not a democracy and second he should know the Founders based our constitution on the Judaeo/Christian values they held.

Dear Chris,

I read with interest your assessment of the Act for America Rally that was held in Waterbury and was saddened to see how little you apparently understand about the core beliefs of Islam or of their agenda for America. While it is true that there are Ahmadiyya Muslims in Ct, who stress non-violence and tolerance for other faiths, they are a small minority and viewed as a sect, in fact as non-Muslim by both Sunnis and Shiites. So please bear with me for a moment or two while I explain further.

The majority Muslim activity in Ct is Sunni. Their mosques, their schools, their influence on the college and university campuses in setting up chairs of Islamic Studies comes principally from Saudi Arabia with those accepting money agreeing to teach from the Wahabbi school of thought - a very orthodox, fundamental, literal adherence to the Qur’an, the Hadiths, & the Sunna. Their laws for ALL aspects of life are codified in their sacred law, under the title The Reliance of the Traveler”. For now their activity is a kind of stealth jihad, part of the civilization jihad against America that was laid out more than 50 years ago when the Muslim Brotherhood decided to infiltrate the USA with the formation of the Muslim Student Association in 1963.

By 1991 the Muslim Brotherhood had become so successful that they listed 29 affiliated organizations with the same goals and overlapping leadership. In July 1998 Omar M. Ahmad, former chairman of the board of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) stated, “Islam isn’t in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant. The Qur’an, the Muslim book of scripture, should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only accepted religion on earth.” That same year the Muslim Brotherhood in North America published an Explanatory Memorandum: On the General Strategic Goals for the Group. This document was not discovered by the US government until 2004 and entered into evidence in 2007 at what became known as the Holy Land Foundation Trial. An excerpt from that document states the process of settlement in the USA is a “Civilization-Jihadist Process” with all the word means. “The Ikhwan (brotherhood) must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and sabotaging its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers (Muslims) so that it is eliminated and God’s religion is made victorious over all other religions.”

As Americans we are so tolerant and sometimes naïve, to our own detriment, that we don’t take to heart and believe what others who do mean us harm say. Our Constitution guarantees freedom for ALL. Sharia absolutely does not. Furthermore, these “Honest Conversations” that have been being presented across our state are far from honest. They are deceptive and why? Because Islam teaches that taqiyya (lying to ahieve an advantage over a non-Muslim) is not only permissible, it is obligatory. So they quote the peaceful passages of the Qur’an taken from the Meccan period and avoid the harsh, violent passages of the Mediian period. But it is those latter passages that abrogated (replaced) the earlier passages when Mohammad found people were not responding to his message. What’s more, at these “Honest Conversations” events questions must be presented in writing; then they are screened so not all are answered, and no rebuttal is permitted. The entire information event is tightly controlled and truth is obscured.

So are Muslims advocating Sharia in CT? Well, is there a push to incorporate their holidays into the school calendar? Is there a push for halal food in cafeterias at schools and colleges? Is there a demand to take pork off the school menu in some places? Is there a push to allow prayer time in schools and businesses? Is sharia compliant financing available at our banks? Yes, indeed. These are all examples of creeping sharia. Achieving accommodation in the small arenas is the first step and it is being talked about in many of the mosques across the state. We need to wake up and realize and accept that Islam is not just another religion. Rather it is a social, political, economic, judicial, educational, militaristic system “cloaked” as a religion. It uses our laws and freedoms to achieve its goals. The liberties and freedom we enjoy do not exist under Islam. And our people desperately need to be educated, because accommodation is not assimilation.

As for the rally, no one insulted or intimidated anyone at Waterbury. Yes, there were speeches but they were dignified and no one suggested that “all followers of Islam are bad” as you stated. That is a gross distortion of the facts. Apparently you were not there or you would have known that.
I’ve not written you today seeking publication but with the sincere hope that you will investigate Islam and plumb its depths for yourself because like so many others you seem to be woefully ignorant of Islam and its agenda. There are many good resources available on-line or through Amazon from experts in the field - educators, authors, and speakers who have studied the topic in detail, or are former Muslims, themselves. And I think you owe it to yourself and your readership to become more fully informed before criticizing a group whose mission is to protect our democracy. I intend to stand firm for my country, its Constitution and exclusively for American Laws for American Courts. Those of us who have been educated on the topic, do not hate Muslims; rather, we seek to unveil this oppressive system while loving the people. Perhaps the two enclosures will give you a start on that journey!
