(Cromwell, CT.) Harry
Burr, Chairman of the Middlesex Chamber’s Prevention Committee
announced that spring seminar will be held for the community to on the
topic of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Substance Abuse. The
workshop will take place on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Baci Grill 134 Berlin Road in Cromwell and will include breakfast. The breakfast buffet begins at 7:30 a.m. and program beginning at 8 a.m. and lasting until 9:30 a.m.
On
our panel is a veteran who suffered battlefield PTSD and found his way
back to health. Joining him are therapists who treat patients with
PTSD/addictions, both in the military and civilian worlds.
The
workshop will help employers better understand PTSD, and healthy ways
their employees can respond to, and heal from, traumatic incidents.
Speakers include:
• Dr. R. Ross MacLean, Ph.D., Clinical Psychologist, Veterans Administration CT Healthcare System, West Haven
• Ms. Joanna Crowell, LPC, LADC , Clinical Supervisor of the Psychiatric Day Treatment Program, Middlesex Hospital, Middletown
• Special Guest — Veteran Speaker
