Last Chance To Stop Gun Confiscation Bill!

ccdl_logo.jpg There are only days left in this year's legislative session.

Amended H.B. 5054 AN ACT PROTECTING VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE already passed the House late Wednesday night by a 104 to 42 vote and will be called in the Senate any day. This bill seizes firearms, ammunition and permits from legal gun owners that have an Ex Parte Temporary Restraining Order (an order WITHOUT a hearing) filed against them. Nearly half of these Temporary Restraining Orders do not become full restraining orders. WE NEED EVERY MEMBER to call these key Senate leaders, as well as your own Senator today, and tell them to vote NO on H.B. 5054. Call the offices listed below and ask to speak with one of the Senators listed and leave a message. Feel free to use the scripted message below if needed.

Scripted Phone Message Opposing H.B. 5054:
Hi Senator,
My name is _______________________,
I'm calling to voice my opposition to House Bill 5054. I urge you to vote NO on this bill. I oppose H.B. 5054 AN ACT PROTECTING VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE because.....
--- [Just pick ONE of the following reasons OR use your own] ---
...we already have two laws that removes firearms from an abuser, these are immediate and available 24 hours a day, not just during normal court hours.
...if this bill passes an ABUSER can easily file for a temporary restraining order to disarm the victim. Many women own legal firearms for protection.
...this bill will cause many wrongfully accused people to have their personal property seized prior to having a chance to be heard by a judge.
...if this law was truly about protecting victims, it would address the other weapons that a more commonly used. Guns are the least commonly used weapon in domestic violence incidents.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at ________________.
Thank you for your time and have a good day.

  1. The problem is... CCDL does not have an age requirement for membership meaning more than HALF of their members are children. Babies right out of the womb are signed up. And the kids don't even have to be the children of existing members so long as their parents say ok!
CCDL coincidentally leaves that part out when bragging about their number of members. How funny.
Have the kiddos draw pictures for the Senators.

  3. I am kind of curious how someone who demands to be anonymous could possibly know who the members of the CCDL is when the members list isn't published and second, even if he had every name, did he do any actual research to prove his statistics or is he just spouting numbers for the sake of having something to say.

Now to play devils advocate, let's say, for an example, that he is right and half the members are children (which the NRA let's children join as well). I think that children should have the right to be a part of an organization that represents their future interests and should be learning and participating in the fight to protect rights that they have just as much right to as any adult. The 2nd amendment does not say the right of the adults, but the right of the people. So if children are involved in the educational process, that the CCDL deals with on a daily basis, is a very good thing. My children know more about their rights and responsibilities than most adults do and what we do today, effects them as well.

In all honesty, if my 9 year old or my 14 year old wanted to right a letter to their Senator, with their concerns, that Senator took an oath to represent them as well, not just me or other parents. They have a duty to listen to the children and consider their thoughts as well.

Lastly, Anonymous spouts a lot of bull with absolutely nothing to back himself up with sounding very much like someone truly uneducated and afraid that maybe, by educating the youth properly, people like him will keep losing this battle with hypocrisy and be forced to face the truth.
