Press Release – San Bernardino Shooting
12/02/2015
For Immediate Release:
The Connecticut Citizens
Defense League (The state’s largest grass-roots gun rights group) is
speaking out against calls for more gun control made by elected
officials from Connecticut.
Comment from CCDL President Scott Wilson:
“Once again we have Governor Malloy spouting off
for more gun control before any facts are out about who may have
committed the atrocity in San Bernardino and why they committed it. Once
again we also have Congresswoman Elizabeth Esty, Senator Chris Murphy
and Senator Richard Blumenthal parroting calls for more gun control out
of their playbook. It is obvious that in their minds, law-abiding
citizens of the United States would be better off walking around
completely defenseless with no means to protect themselves”.
Wilson Added:
“While CCDL typically tries
to refrain from commenting in the early stages of mass murders involving
firearms, it is becoming increasingly harder to do so given the fact
that elected officials run to the microphone while these events are
still in progress. A sane person would be foolish to listen to any of
these people, given that their ultimate goal is to eradicate our 2nd Amendment,
and to disarm the population of this country. Therefore, it is the duty
of this organization to counter outrageous statements made to today
from these officials”.
Wilson Concluded with a reference to last weeks press release:
“Based on
comments today by President Obama about possible terrorists, CCDL refers
to a press release from last week for details”:
___________________________________________
About
the CCDL: The Connecticut Citizens Defense League was formed in 2009 by
a small group of concerned citizens as a non-partisan organization to
advocate second amendment rights in the state of Connecticut. Since
their founding, the group has grown to over 20,000 members from across
the state.
Thanks
to this large supportive base, the CCDL has become a fixture at the
state capitol, and well-recognized by committees that see firearms
related bills.
As the go-to organization
in the state they are consulted regularly by lawmakers who have
questions and concerns about pending legislation or existing laws. For
more information on the CCDL please visit http://www.ccdl.us
God Bless CCDL!
