Ed McKeon used cross walks for 1 hour during rush hour from approximately 4:30 -5:30 pm at the corner of High and Washington Streets. The media is reporting the group wanted to create gridlock to show what they feel will be the potential impact on traffic if a proposed text amendment to the to the MX zone is passed by Planning and Zoning on Wednesday March 13, 2013. The text amendment allows for additional uses. Protestors carried signs with slogans like "No Wrecking Ball No Strip Mall","Kiss this House Goodbye", and "Mayor Drew You Bet On the Wrong Horse." One sign carried the phone number for Mayor Drew's office encouraging drivers to call and express their frustration.
