Chief Leaves South Fire District

South Fire Chief Edward Badamo joined the department in 2005.During his tenure he obtained a grant to replace much of the department's Hurst equipment, provided leadership during the Kleen Energy explosion in 2010, and the obtaining of the a beam from the World Trade Center that fell during the 9/11 Terrorist attacks. The beam the been incorporated into a memorial at the station.
The Fire Commission voted 3-2, without giving details at this time, not to renew Badamo's contract.
The Insider would like to thank Chief Badamo for his years of service to our City and wish him well in future endeavors.

  2. Why are my taxes paying this looser for the next 6 months ? Maybe they are worried about the damage he would cause the department if he stayed.
