Red Rosa Campaign's in Middletown's Northend

Mayor Dan Drew escorts Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D) and Rep. Joe Serra (D) around the Northend of Middletown during  NEAT's Pride Day   to check on work (grease palms) as part of both's campaigns for re-election in the fall. Ironically, DeLauro is a millionaire. Serra grew up in the Northend, then after making dough, got the heck out. Now he stops in every so often to score some votes during daylight hours only.
Last weekend, at NEAT's Northend Pride Day, several politicians took the opportunity to campaign guided by Mayor Drew. On hand were Middletown district state Representatives Joe Serra (D), Matt Lesser (D), and Rosa Delauro (D) who touts herself as a champion of the poor. Last week columnist Don Pesci who publishes his own blog "Red Notes in a Blue State" wrote an interesting column focuses on some of the irony of DeLauro's logic behind treating the symptoms of poverty but not curing it-
Here is Mr. Pesci's article: http://connecticutpoliticalreporter.blogspot.com/2012/04/rosa-delauro-and-hunger-in-connecticut.html

DeLauro, who has been in office since 1991 took the time last weekend to come to the Northend of Middletown, not to do work, but to grease the palms of volunteers. The Insider did a graphic as an homage to Pesci's column and her visit.

Update: Rosa  DeLauro & Mayor Drew, will visit the NoRA Cupcake Company ,The Buttonwood Tree in  Javapalooza!, New England Emporium, and Mallove's Jewelers May 2, 2012 at 11 AM. Mayor Dan Drew will join her for the  blatant campaigning for votes from lower socio economic classes "tour. Is Drew ever in his office?
