Senate Candidate Matt Corey on Murphy's Silence

Where is Chris Murphy’s Outrage Over the
Reprehensible Actions of Elizabeth Esty?

His Silence Protects the Abuser – Again!

“Six months ago I demanded that Chris Murphy and Congress immediately disclose the names of U.S. Senators and Congressmen involved in a multi-year, multi-million dollar, taxpayer-funded cover-up of employment law violations, including sexual harassment and abuse charges, on Capitol Hill,” said Matt Corey, a Republican candidate for U.S. Senate.

“I was stunned that Chris Murphy purposefully ignored the pervasive, years-long culture of employment law violations, including sexual harassment, that permeates Capitol Hill,” Corey continued.

“And now we know why Chris Murphy was silent.  He wanted to protect his Democratic crony Elizabeth Esty, who we have just learned was a part of the disgusting illegal abuse and the taxpayer funded cover-up.”

“We are already hearing calls for Elizabeth Esty to resign over this disgusting episode – and yet Chris Murphy still remains silent.”

“Chris Murphy: What is your view on Elizabeth Esty’s indefensible actions?  Do you stand with the abuser or the victim?”

“It is an open secret in Washington that Elizabeth Esty was among the worst bosses on Capitol Hill. “

“And yet Chris Murphy continues his silence – and continues to ignore the rights of employees, and young women in particular, to work in an environment free of abuse and harassment.”

“All to protect a Democratic crony.”
