Wigs for Kids Cut-a-thon!

logo Last Saturday, Lorraine Chapman, owner of Cuts Unlimited Beauty in Middletown CT, and Bill Boylan hosted a Cut-a-thon to benefit Wigs for Kids, an non-profit organization that provides hair pieces to children 18 years of age and younger who have lost their hair due to medical reasons.

Lorraine and Bill wish to thank the members of the community who came out to support this good cause, Cassandra Day of the Middletown Press, Brad Davis from The Talk of Connecticut radio and Don DeCesare, Barry Williams and Bob Muscatell from WLIS/WMRD radio for their promotion of the event.

We also thank the following local vendors who contributed food items for volunteers and guests:

It's Only Natural Restaurant who contributed sweet potato fries and Southern-fried Tofu; yum on both counts!

Mondo Restaurant for their three large pizzas.  This was the first time I have had Mondo pizza and I assure you it will not be the last!

Dunkin Donuts on Newfieled St. for contributing 150 tasty munchkins,

And lastly, Taste of Italy bakery for their donation of a large box of wonderful Italian cookies.  Sadly, though, Taste of Italy, located next door to Cuts Unlimited Beauty, has sold and closed their doors.  A new restaurant will be opening in its place.

The Cut-a-thon proved to be such a meaningful experience to Lorraine that she wants to make this an annual event.  Bill has agreed to help her make the next ones an even greater success!
