Chief Middlefield Volunteer Fire Company
On
Saturday December 3, 2016 at 8:00am an emergency response drill will
be conducted for the communities surrounding Middlefield on Orchard
Lane in Middlefield Ct. The drill will test the capabilities of
Middlefield emergency response services, the surrounding communities
and hazardous material teams to manage an emergency involving
multiple jurisdictions and response agencies. The
exercise will be postponed until December 4 in the event of inclement
weather.
The
drill will be a progressive type scenario and will engage a variety
of response organizations. These will include at a minimum Fire,
Ambulance, Emergency Management, and Hazardous Materials and local
hospital. The resources will come from various regions of
Connecticut.
The
news media is invited to cover the drill activities. The drill site
will be arranged for media coverage but access will be restricted to
registered media participants. Please contact the office of JLN
Associates, or Chief Tyc with names and cell numbers of staff whom
will be participating at the drill site.
Information
dissemination will be a drill objective; we ask that your
organization participate in receiving information as they would in a
real event (media briefings). The site will open to media at 8:00 am
for registration and set-up.

Associates, LLC under contract with State Emergency Response
Commission and Department of Energy & Environmental Protection
(DEEP) is planning and implementing this hazardous material related
full-scale exercise for Middlefield and the surrounding communities.
The Planning and Implementation of this exercise is funded by a HMEP
Grant being administered by the State Emergency Response Commission.
