CCS Provides the ONLY Full-time Lobbying presence during Regular & Special Legislative Sessions, DEP Regulation, in cities/towns promoting sportsmen restrictions. Successfully initiates & supports many proactive bills dealing with pistol permit laws, Firearms, Hunting, Trapping, & Boating. CCS consistently defeats anti-sportsmen bills.  Success equals full-time issue representation at the Capitol and YOUR input affecting sportsmen.
                                                          RECENT  ACTIVITIES
In 2016 PASSED. The Temporary Domestic Violence Restraining Order bill (Confiscation of firearms w/o Due Process) Sponsored by the Governor, Senate & House Majority Leaders, & Valerie Jarrett, White House Offices of Public Engagement and Intergovernmental Affairs; TROUT STAMP Established; Fish Hatcheries and Pheasant Programs again saved. Designation of certain areas Housatonic R. as a Wild & Scenic R. NOT PASSED: Presentation of a Carry Permit; Private Land Revolver Permit Expansion; Cecil’s Law (Precludes CT import of “Africa Big 5” + Ivory);  Erased Records to be addt’l Criteria for issue of Pistol Permits; DEEP Turn In Poachers Funding.

 In 2015 SUNDAY BOWHUNTING PASSED after over two decades of debate; Elimination of ALL Fish Hatcheries was saved in both the 2015 Regular & Special sessions; the Pheasant Stocking Program was saved for 2015, but not for 2016. NO GUN BILLS PASSSED, but it is expected  theTemporary Domestic Violence Restraining Order bill (confiscation of firearms) will return in 2016; 65+ Lifetime License Defeated. PASSED: Fiscal Sustainability of State Parks, Long Island Sound Resource and Use Inventory. Again, several bills were submitted by CCS), but due to “Budget Constraints” and NO Gun Bills accepted, our only bill was Sunday Hunting. These bills will again be submitted.
The Coalition provides the ONLY consistent sportsmen's lobbying at the Capitol, DEP Regulation hearings, DEEP Advisory Councils presence, and with other state agencies.

CCS is the recognized spokesman group for our issues, with radio/TV/print media. CCS co-sponsors the successful Northeast Fishing and Outdoor Expo.
Membership is the basis for any successful organization providing revenue for Operations): involving Legislative, Agency, and Municipal lobbying; Alerts; member communications; administration; and website/e-mail. All are essential to concerned sportsmen to retain and further develop sportsmen's influence and presence. Our opposition is becoming better organized - be active and support sportsmen's efforts! Success & continuation of sportsmen's activities depends upon members such as YOU!
