Candidate Bio: Gene Nocera (D) Common Council

Candidate for Council Gene  P. Nocera, PhD (D)
Gene P. Nocera, PhD - Democratic Candidate for Common Council
Over the course of my lifelong career in Middletown, as a teacher, principal, Board of Education Chairman, doctoral graduate from the University of Connecticut in Storrs, university instructor and public and private school administrator, I have acquired a deep understanding of learning theory, administration, and city government. In addition to my impact in the classroom, schools, school district, city government and community, I have also worked hard to reach out to influence the school district's culture, providing goal clarification and a positive school and city climate, helping reduce and community isolation within the decision making process, and sharing the power and responsibility with our staff and community.

In my judgment the greatest contribution our elected officials can provide is leadership to cultivate shared values that create a community climate of openness, mutual respect, support, and excellence.

I am seeking election to the City of Middletown Common Council because I believe that my leadership skills, leadership training, as well as my administrative planning skills and political experiences bring an important balance to the City.
I am well versed on the workings of our city government and the needs of our community and have 40 years of varied leadership experiences to draw upon. I have the maturity, experience, and common sense to provide quality leadership, and ask for your support in November.

  1. I wouldn't trust him. He can't think for himself. He does what he is told and will not help our city out on the Town Council.
