The month of August is known as:
Earlier this summer the Insider had call for Veteran's to send in their stories. For the first time trying a call for submissions, we got great responses and many compliments from readers. We take our inspiration from local William Boylan who recently submitted a post showcasing the work by local tradesmen who volunteered their labor as part of Purple Heart Homes.
Let's make August another memorable submissions focusing on readers.
This month's topic: "Yes I Built It Middletown: Stories of Home Grown Middletown Businesses."
Criteria: Name, Location, Small photo or web link, and a summary of the history of your small business in Middletown ( by small we mean 1- 25 employees please).
While we appreciate start ups and helping fledgling businesses, in order to not be overwhelmed, we ask your business have been in operation or have operated for at minimum 5 years.
If yours business was a Middletown icon, and is no longer in existence please consider writing as a walk-down memory lane and be honest in why you think the status changed. Remember to send nostalgia photos or articles if you have them! What is a change in technology, economy, or something else?
The idea is to promote and showcase unique local small businesses actually employing local people. If your business did something special - a donation to a worthy cause or a volunteer day don't be shy in bragging! Please send submissions to : middletowninsider@gmail.com. We take scans or text and are happy to assist with retyping. Not a writer? Send notes and we will work with you to compose something special. Thank you! Middletown Insider Staff
