The City Council will be MEETING in Special Session Thursday July 11 at 7pm. formally dedicate that parcel to honor Katchen Coley, naming it the Katchen Coley Mountain Laurel Preserve.
I encourage all of you to come and celebrate this with Katchen, who will be there. The Council agenda does allow for people to speak on that agenda, so I assume you will have the opportunity to say a few words, also.

Coley was honored for her years of services to the city in a proclamation from the then mayor and common council dedicated to her in 2004. Coley is the longest sitting member of the board of The Connection Inc. , an advocate for the restoration of Wadsworth Mansion, and a proponent of preserving open space in the Maromas and Westfield sections of town.
