Local Zoning Appeals Alternate Dies

Robert Stefurak |
By no means does the title of this article accurately describe the larger than life, Robert Stefurak whatsoever. Unfortunately, we lost this kind soul, Mr. Robert, “Bob”, Stefurak, yesterday, at the age of 77 years. While details are still emerging, it appears Bob died following what is described as an acute illness, at Hartford Hospital, yesterday. Bob served on the Zoning Board of Appeals, appointed by then Mayor Sebastian Guiliano, in his last term as Mayor. Bob would have served until this November, had his term been served to its completion. Bob was pre-deceased by his wife, Karen, and is survived by his children, Donna, Debbie, Bob Jr., & Michael.
Bob was so much more, to so many people than just an alternate on the Zoning Appeals Board, though he was very proud to serve. Bob has run for Common Council in Middletown, twice previously, once as an independent, and the other for the GOP. Bob’s heart always leaned in the Conservative direction though, and he was always a known face on Comcast’s Public Access shows, The Edge, & The Diner, but was always ready to lend a hand on any of the shows the Conservatives produced; Middletown Perspective, and The Bauer Hour. This blurb, is a misrepresentation of a man who was larger than life itself, to everyone who knew him. We certainly intend to eulogize Bob, appropriately, in the next 24 Hours.
There will be a Wake on Thursday, September 7th, from 5pm - 7pm, at Biega Funeral Home, on Silver Street. The Funeral Service will be at St. Pius on Westfield Street, Friday, the 8th, at 10am.
For Bill Boylan, and myself of The Middletown Insider, I extend our sincerest condolences to Bob’s Family, and Friends. If anyone has a special memory of Bob that you’d like to share with us, please email them directly to me, at clarkofmiddletown@live.com.
