To the citizens of the South Fire District,
A
number of our South Fire residents have called the tax office inquiring
about not receiving a tax bill for their vehicles. As reported during
the budget development process and subsequent budget vote this past
spring, due to the District receiving a state grant for district
operational, we will not be taxing vehicles this year as an effort to
save our residents money.

Not to look a gift horse in the mouth, but in order for the state (or federal or city) government to issue a grant, it must first take money out of the pockets of . . . other tax payers. The burden has just been shifted to our neighbors. Editor
