Art Linares to Seek Re-election in the 33rd District
After much consideration I have once again decided to seek reelection for the office of State Senator for the 33rd District.
Over the last few years I have opposed Governor Malloy's tax increase, burdensome regulations, and wasteful spending. I have stood up to those who propose Band-Aid solutions to the issues we face in Connecticut.
I have made it clear that my job as Senator is to do what is right for the residents of my district and not to blindly follow partisan bureaucrats in Hartford. I cannot and will not support budgets that do not have the structural changes we so desperately need to solve our persistent economic issues.
Constantly solving budgets deficits with surprise cuts only to face the problem again in six months is not the appropriate way to run the Government.
I will continue to propose a long term solution to the economic issues that face us, while putting forward proposals that will encourage businesses to stay and grow in Connecticut while giving our residents long term job security.
Because of my refusal to go along with the bad policies coming out of Hartford, the Democratic Party has targeted the 33rd District as the one they need to win back. They are determined to provide my opponent with all the financial assistance he needs to defeat me in November. The state Democratic Party will, through their PAC's, spend whatever amount necessary to stop anyone who opposes them.
Once again, I need your help as we continue this work.
Please help me raise the necessary funds to run a responsible and effective campaign. Your contribution between five ($5) and one hundred ($100) dollars is needed to achieve our goal.
