This past Saturday, fire departments in several shoreline towns opened their doors to accept food donations from the public, to benefit the Shoreline Soup Kitchens and
Pantries. Towns include Westbrook, Clinton, Essex, Killingworth and
Chester, with area businesses hosting collection tables outside their
doors.
Totals are not yet available for this year, but Claire
Bellerjeau, Director of Development and Outreach for The Shoreline Soup Kitchens and Pantries and Max Sabrin of the Old Saybrook Fire Department tell the Insider that last year's drive collected 5,000 pounds of food. A record number of meals were served, totaling more than one million!

Jammin 107.7 teamed up with Gil, Max and Claire, saying it "Feels good to give back".
