Sen. Hwang on Student Aid - Illegal Aliens Favored Over American Citizens

State Senator Tony Hwang
Should Connecticut provide undocumented residents (illegal aliens) with access to financial aid available for in-state college students at the expense of American citizens?

I voted no on the proposal.

In voting no, I emphasized the rights and privileges of citizenship in access to college financial aid.
I understand the uncontrolled circumstances of undocumented students, and I advocated for a revamped pathway to residency and citizenship for undocumented students and their families.
