Guestblog: Conservative Roundup by Palin Smith

Below is a roundup of Conservative events being held this week. Complied and submitted by Palin Smith. Opinions are that of Palin Smith and do not necessarily reflect that of Insider Staff.

GREETINGS PATRIOTS
Let us all give thanks for living in America. Let us resolve to do what we must to improve our nation and our state so our children and grandchildren inherit the rich legacy of what it means to be an American. This short video is not fancy but expresses a bit of the freedom we take for granted.

Upcoming events of note:
This is the first chance the CCDL will have to brave defiance in the presence of Governor Malloy sinceApril 4. CCDL and Oath Keepers will be marching together. The following details were provided by CT Oath Keepers:
To All CT Oath Keepers:
We will be marching with our CCDL (CT Citizens Defense League) Brothers in Liberty in the Enfield Independence Day Parade on Saturday, July 6, 2013. The parade will step off at 11:00am- CCDL / Oath keepers are in Section (group) 2.

We will assemble and stage at 1318 Enfield St, across from the Enfield School between 9:30 am and 10:30 am. Be advised that the roads in the surrounding area of the parade will be closed to traffic by10:30 am. Leave extra time to find parking. There will be folks directing and informing the marchers exactly where to assemble. Please be advised that it may take some time to find parking in the area, so a word to the wise would be to ARRIVE EARLY.

Oath Keeper and CCDL garb is recommended. American flags and appropriately worded signs with positive messages are acceptable. Specifically, no disparaging messages will be allowed. This is a celebration of our independence from an earlier gang of tyrants. There are times and places for the other messages, just not Saturday.
This will also be a day to honor the 19 brave First Responder Oath Keepers who perished fighting that horrific fire in AZ."
There is no limit to the number of marchers allowed. If you’re in CCDL or an Oath Keeper, this is the one day you’ve been waiting for. I’ll be traveling the 60 miles up from Woodbury to chronicle the parade, with particular focus on CCDL and Oath Keepers. Enfield treats it’s guests like heroes. Carry on!

WATERTOWN ~ July 6
5th District Representative, Elizabeth Esty, has scheduled a “Congress on your corner” at the Adams grocery store in Watertown from 3-4:30 PM on Saturday. This is another rare opportunity to ask your congresswoman about issues of the day. And be sure to tell her your opinions on gun control, amnesty, jobs and Obama. This is not a meeting in an auditorium. This is where you can talk to her one on one, face to face.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CLINTON ~ JULY 7
Litigation Fundraiser Pig Roast
Ceniccola's Deli and Pizzeria in Clinton is hosting a Second Amendment Pig Roast July 7th 2013, fromNoon til 4pm, $20 per person (Kids under 12 eat free). All proceeds are being donated to the CCDL litigation fund. Bring your family friends and enjoy the day while supporting this cause.

WEST HAVEN ~ JULY 10
Our grass roots restoration movement has recognized Jessica Chiong from West Haven as a top protagonist fighting against Common Core - Agenda 21 in Connecticut. Last week we supported Jessica at the West Haven City Council meeting.

We’re asking you to support her again next week when she is introduced in the Republican slate of candidates running in November. Jessica is a candidate for West Haven Board of Education. After the brief ceremony, free food and a “happy hour” priced cash bar will be served nearby:
"Good Afternoon Fellow Republicans,
July is a busy month for us. We have 2 very important events coming up that I need everyone to attend. The first is the Mayoral Announcement which will take place on July 10, 6:30pm at the Grove over by the Lone Sailor Statue. We have invited both Bill Riccio from the Voice and Susan Misur from the Register. There will be a reception to follow over at Fresco's right after the announcement. There will be a taco bar with nachos and other goodies. The food is free and Fresco's will offer us Happy Hour prices for the drinks. Please try to make it I would love to see in print that we had over 50 people in attendance.
Bart Chadderton, candidate for mayor.

We are witnessing a possible surrender of America to a foreign invasion without a fight. The US Senate voted 68-32 to allow America to be sold to the highest bidder. We will not sit idly by and let the elite snobs who never fought for our freedom give it up so big business can make money and so the Democrat Party can replenish it’s ranks with more anti-American foot soldiers.
Cort from the Stamford/Greenwich Tea Party has sent an urgent message. This is an excerpt:

To Everyone, MAKE THE CALL. Flood Boehner's office with calls telling him to use the Blue Slip described below. It is the most effective way to put the anti-constitutional amnesty bill out its misery.Make a hobby out of this. Tell your friends. Call all three offices. Call back to make sure they got your first, second and third messages . Harass the hell of him!

And just one more thing. The great majority of us have never experienced the fear of living in a police state. America’s easy blueprints have worked for over two centuries. We’ve veered further and further away from the political simplicity from which this nation was founded. Restoration of our nation can only be achieved when WE THE PEOPLE stand up and begin electing better representatives. Too often the brainless celebrity gets the vote. The competent people who might not be charismatic or pretty to look at take a back seat to history.
There are too many laws on the books. Life is worse than it was twenty-five years ago. Thousands of laws must be repealed before new ones are added. Not too long ago within a series of Face Book chats, a state representative from Ridgefield came clean! He had bragged that he had participated in 15,000 votes in Hartford. My reply was that nobody should be there so long to see that many new bills. I added to say that probably 14,000 were not worth the paper they were written on. He replied that is was more like 14,700.
So that’s what our legislators do with their time and our money! The great waste. So now we’ve got to make a decision. Do we want to retain that bunch of miscreants, or do we want to sweep them out? We know the answer. But how can it be done? Come to the CT Restoration Coalition meetings and learn how.
And take a good look at the story on this link. Think….is this the America we want or is this the America we will get if we don’t do something fast?!!

It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people's minds. (Samuel Adams)
Pass the matches or get out of the way…..
