Whether or not you like the "quality" of the choices, they are the choices you have; primarily, because you non-voters are not involved or engaged, in the first place!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-239070883775529047.post-62815408729853705372015-11-04T23:11:32.911-05:002015-11-04T23:11:32.911-05:00Don't lump non-voters into your requirement fo...Don't lump non-voters into your requirement for us to shut up. In my point of view, the choices were so poor in quality, that none of the candidates were worth voting for. Hence, my abstention was my vote.
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-239070883775529047.post-79207103549246780052015-11-04T19:23:38.317-05:002015-11-04T19:23:38.317-05:00There are two reasons for this (the results); igno...There are two reasons for this (the results); ignorance and apathy; "I don't know and I don't care"!

People don't know . . . and they don't care. It has been summed up in numerous ways, all conveying a similar concept as this:

"Men fight for liberty and obtain it with hard knocks. Their children, brought up easy, let it slip away again, poor fools. And their grand children are once more slaves." However, I have to say that the tone of much of what I see on this blog makes me very hesitant to vote for candidates that I see endorsed here. I don't know them personally, so all I have to go on is the limited press that they get. I hope that the combative and often juvenile tone that is so often present here doesn't represent the actual candidates, but I don't think the negativity that pervades this blog helps their cause. I, too, am fed up with the entrenched politicians that have been running the city, but until constructive ideas, rather than attacks, are the focus I don't see any hope.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-239070883775529047.post-50967609423655691702015-11-04T13:36:33.425-05:002015-11-04T13:36:33.425-05:00Democrats do outnumber Republicans in Middletown, ...Democrats do outnumber Republicans in Middletown, but voters have repeatedly elected Republican mayors when they felt that the Republican was the better candidate. I think everyone in town knows and likes Sandy, but the majority didn't feel that she was a better choice for mayor.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
